What file format are people using for Sammie?
mp4 usually as the input source.
Prores 422HQ in and out. I guess the less compression artifacts in the source footage, the best for the model to perform its task…
How are you dealing with the concern that the model licenses of the second step having tighter licensing (MatAnyone is non-commercial, videomama is usable below $1M from my read).
MatAnyone seems better if you need 4K+

Video Ma Ma also refines the matte by generative prior so it will invent stuff that is not the same as original. Similar perhaps but not the same. More stable, at the expense of processing power and the new pixels created that don’t match the original which may or may not be an issue.
I did an experiment if taking the models outside of Sammie could simplify things, and if you could run them at full res. Easy to build and run. But Comfy’s memory management gets in the way. So the full picture not as clear.
But as @bryanb pointed out on the Discord, Silhouette tends to outperform them in quality, and can run higher res, properly licensed, plus export them as cryptomattes if you run the app instead of the plugin. Not free, but possibly the best solution for now.
