A little fun exploring OFX.
LMK if this is something you could use, I’ll hook you up.

@Maurypb - lovely work Maury.
Is there a version available on your store?
wow love this! would love to have a play
Quantel Trail. Can you do Track and Howl too? I miss Howl.
I want this. Very cool!
@philm, Thanks for the kind words! It’s not yet released, but soon! I’m adding a few features. I was asked to add “fairlight cvi” features, and they’re looking good - very retro. If you want an advance copy, let me know, I’ll send a link (when I get back to LA, I’m traveling for a few more days).
@ytf, I was around for the Quantel days (my first gig was a “mirage programmer”), but I don’t remember “howl” - I suppose it means “feedback” like in audio? … was it anything like the Fairlight cvi feedback effects, or the NEC squeezoom feedback stuff? Someone asked me about those a few days ago, and this is what I came up with:
This is in resolve, but it works the same in flame for the most part. Runs very fast on my 4090. You’re welcome to have it, but give me a few days, I’m out of town for a bit.
edit here’s a different setting:
@andy_dill , I’ll get you a license - give me a couple of days, I’m out of town.
And all of my logik friends are welcome to this ofx. I’ll post a link and instructions when I get back home from my travels.
Howl was a feature of the DPM(?) 5000+, a fore-runner to the mirage. This looks more like howl. It was similar to the Vital SqueezeZoom, but softer and more controllable. Can I show this to some non-flamers who might take an interest?
@ytf, of course you can show it, feel free - that would be doing me a favor! BTW, this (and my other ofxs) run on flame, nuke and resolve, on mac, win and linux.
@ytf, you mentioned howl and track, and that the thing in the vid was like “howl” (and the thread starter video was quantel trail).
But what’s “track”? Can you describe it?
I forget. We didn’t use it much because it wasn’t as cool looking.
Adding some stuff - it is fun to play with! The ofx runs exactly the same on flame and nuke (but not quite as fast, resolve does some nicer stuff for ofx). This is running real time (and recording the screen too) on a minimum config mac mini m4. Brings me back to my wasted youth.
thats amazing
where is your store? I need this - I too am retro!
It’s not on the store yet. I think it’s still a work in progress.
This isn’t published yet, but it is indeed ready for beta, and you are welcome to it! It is fun to play with as you can see ![]()
Send me a dm, with your system description, and mention if you also use nuke and/or resolve. I’ll send you a beta link.
@Sinan exactly right. Still a WIP. But all are invited to test it out, it’s gonna be free for the logik peeps.

More fun with feedback and image processing: Adding audio analysis to drive the parameters. Still running at 30 fps on a 4090, in resolve, probably a little slower in Flame and Nuke.
If this Flame artist thing doesn’t work out, I’m gonna be a VJ.
@Maurypb - so dope.
reminds me when flame was not about subtitles and versions.
