Nuke's CurveTool, but in Flame -- OFX Plugin FlickerMatch

Eric from VFX Tools here with a new OFX plugin for you to try out. It’s similar to Nuke’s Curve Tool, where it analyzes and applies the flickering lighting from one shot and applies to another.

Here’s a Linux build for you guys to try, and eventually I’ll do a Mac build.
(Make sure the 2 inputs have the same frame rates.)

I’ll have a Linux box with Flame on it soon. For now, I’m assuming if it works in Resolve in Windows, it has a decent chance of working in Flame. :folded_hands:

Work well in Resolve 20.3.1.

Thank you!

would it be possible to have the OFX put RGB flicker values into the animation channels? We could then drive other stuff using expressions from there?

I suggest categorizing FlickerMatch under the VFX Tools category instead of the Color category.

Perhaps renaming GradeMatcher to GradeMatch would be better!

That would be huge if OFX could do it. Matchboxes can’t write values.

I believe he renamed it to GradeMatcher so as not to conflict with MatchGrade in Nuke.

To second what @ALan mentioned, the curve tool has a lot of uses. Deviation is one, cropping is another—there are a few modes. What makes the addition of this ofx important over say simple flicker removal or whatnot is exposing whatever data is requested in animation channels to drive other parameters—not really using the node to perform those tasks itself. Does that make sense? And sorry I didn’t chime in earlier on my own request… this week has been overloaded.

Let me see if I can get it to output those values just like the Nuke one. Seems like the proof of concept is working as expected?

Will work on this :+1:

I typed the wrong word. I was originally referring to GradeMatch because Nuke’s built-in feature is called MatchGrade. It shouldn’t conflict.

Hey All, please try this: https://www.ericmlevy.com/vfxtools/flickermatch/FlickerMatch_Linux_x86-64_0122.tar.gz

I added animated outputs. Works in Resolve Windows, lets see if it works on Flame Linux.

Finally had a moment today to check it out and the link above isn’t kicking. Something I missed?

It actually works, but Chrome (or your browser) is probably blocking it because it is deemed insecure. You can right-click on your download button and tell the browser to just download the insecure file.

Hi !

This is very cool thanks a lot ! I think it just miss the ability to get those values on a slider or a curve. We could then link the result of the OFX to a color channel or any curve. Otherwise, it’s very cool.

That’s working on the latest link. (Or it should be! It works in Resolve)
