Apparently for the Johnny Mnemonic blue ray they did an entire re-transfer of the movie in black and white and man it looks wild.

JM was one of the first cyberpunk movies I think. This B/W version reminded me of Brazil, which is maybe proto-cyberpunk.
I watched this (the B&W version) on the Criterion Channel in the US a few months ago. Im not sure if it’s still on there but it’s definitely worth checking out. I didn’t like it when I was a kid but I was more into it now. It looks amazing and it’s a lot more interesting than other films from the same era like Lawnmower Man
