VTR deprecation

I have a 5 year old Cinesys built Linux Flame. I have been digitizing old tapes the last few years.
I recently upgraded to Flame 2026 and see that functionality is removed now. Is there any way to
still digitize these tapes with my system. Some other utility that would work? I have a working digibeta deck. Thanks in advance.

roll back to your last working version

VTR was deprecated many versions ago.
A friend does restoration work. His setup is this:
Hardware: AJA IO4K interface which takes SDI or HDMI in and sends that out a Thunderbolt connector.
Software: AJA control room

He works on an M-something studio mac.

@FlyingT any 2024.x or 2025.x version supported on your configuration will allow you to use VTR IO.

I guess I was confused because you stopped supporting it after 2022. I keep forgetting that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work.

We slowly removed VTR archiving some versions ago and deprecated VTR IO with Flame 2025 (which means it is working but will be removed in the future) and 2026 completely removed the functionality.

I guess I’m out of the loop considering I got rid of my last tape deck in 2020. It was a Panasonic D5 that cost nearly 100K new and I couldn’t give it away.

Yup. Yannick put 2025 back on my system and I have been sucking in the digibetas ever since.
