2026.1 restoring archives issue

I just had a test archive completely fail on me while testing moving projects via archives.

error unpacking tar or something.

Then i did another archive and that was fine, however - restoring it with no errors still had a bunch of .mio clips missing, many things checkerboarded

So be aware, test a restore to make sure your archives are working, this is making me so worried that I will stop our 2026 deployment until we figure this out.

In what way did it fail? On what platform?

I can repeately make it fail.

archive a project

remove project from project server

restore project

→ checkerboards of random clips, MIO file errors everywhere.

MacOS with a linux project server

when you remove a project, do you also remove all related directories?
there is a caveat that no related directory can exist.
can you confirm that you:

  • start projekt creation process
  • define catalog directory
  • define media directory
  • define setups directory
  • create projekt
  • start flame
  • make media
  • archive projekt
  • quit flame
  • start flame
  • delete projekt
  • quit flame
  • delete related directories
  • start flame with empty projekt
  • open archive
  • restore projekt?

alternatively, create a new projekt and restore libraries and children from the archive to a new projekt.

I have successfully archived, removed and restored. My main host platform was all linux though

from a project server or local?

local

I too have archived, removed and totally restored without any issue. All local on linux.

most of the issues I have seem to be directly related to using a projectsever
