🔥 Announcing our 2026 Reverse User Group!

Exciting news Logik Friends! We’re doing another Reverse User Group for 2026!

What’s a Reverse User Group you ask?

At a typical Flame User Group meeting, the Devs from Autodesk present new features to users. Well, we are going to try something different - A “Reverse” User Group, where the Users present feature and workflow ideas to the Devs!

Do you have an idea for a feature you’d like to see in Flame, a workflow challenge or bug you’d like to see addressed, or just a better way to accomplish a task? Or is there something that you’re proud of that you’d like to share with the Dev Team? If so, then please consider submitting a video for the Reverse User Group!

Here’s an example of what a video submission should look like. This was from @bryanb back in 2023. He showed an example of Linked Viewports. Does it look familiar? It should… it was implemented into Flame in 2025.1

Some guidelines:

  • User submissions should be screen recordings that are 2-3 minutes in length.
  • Please add narration and/or subtitles to help make things clear. If you are not proficient in English, no problem! Please email me at andy@logik.tv.
  • Please focus on singular issues, with clear end goal or replication steps. If there is something that is footage or Batch Group specific please also include an Archive.
  • The ideal submission would be small/medium, aka quality of life or annoying things that you deal with multiple times a day. Try to avoid “tentpole” issues like Motion Vectors, Text, Particles, keeping all the metadata of a clip, etc. While those are all important issues the Dev Team is well aware of them
  • Based on the number of video submissions we may have to select which ones make the Logik Live show on Feb 22nd, but all of the submissions will be reviewed.
  • Submission deadline is January 31st!

Upload submissions to https://2026reverseusergroup.portal.massive.io Be sure to put a description of your submission in the message field! (see below)

hopefully you recorded it in 3d but even if you recorded it monoscopically we could convert it with apple ml sharp…

This is a fascinating assemblage of words.

What does “loopable player” mean?

Interesting that both Przemyslaw and Mark want the same soft selection feature for extended bicubics. Great news! We already have it as the Magnet tool. I talked about it briefly here:

Just a quick note about yesterday’s episode. In the chat, @philm said “it’s kind of insulting that you say that this is trivial but you don’t express how this can be more efficient or improved.”

I think I took a shortcut here and used the word “trivial” in the context of Flame’s development without explaining it. I didn’t mean to say that the requests themselves were trivial, but that the effort required to implement them is.
