Basic Things Flame Should Really Have But Does Not

All of the above tbh.

N+click to copy the node name for render node especially.

Ability to render on a third party render farm

As basic thing, I would say the “bounding box” of nuke (it was Dod in shake ??? ) , to limit the computing size of layers. It would increase dramatically the performance in renders. Shake had a tool to analize frame by frame and create an animate bounding box with the limit of the pixels per frame. If I’m not wrong Nuke has “curve tool” to do that.

I would kill for that.

And t tap the batch schematic to set the batch duration.

Being able to generate a ST Map from 3D Equalizer data etc, without having to load up Nuke.

Doing it via the “move up/down clip” shortcut, there shouldn’t be some change on the player, rly usefull since we got it.

Still some “play top track” option for the player rly would be awesome. No more clients asking “where did that go” when you missed one track after some changes in the lower ones  .

Dont know if this helps but there is a plugin/script which can export a batch from 3de that uses matchbox to add and remove lens distortion.

When I was at the mill we tested this and it worked perfectly. However it was a faff getting tracking dept to export the same dimensions for matchbox for flame and UVs for nuke which resulted in cg plates being different size plate to flame.

In the end we used @cnoellert ’s uv action setup to use the UVs in Nuke and flame exactly the same.

If you T-Click the source clip in your batch it will set the timebar duration.

Thanks, I’ll have a look.

@justinbromley swears by it but I have never been able to get it supplied to me. It is just a Flame export from 3DE and the matchbox does the distort and undistort.

I am often in Resolve just so that I can read DNG media from drones and certain other media.

I agree with #2

Definitely can be done straight out of 3DE. It works a treat and is fast, and flexible with regards to changing from full res material to half res material.

Also we should be able to scale the time bar ala nuke etc, especially useful on long shots and when u are trying to work on a small specific portion of a timeline

I’d prefer just a right click or control and swipe/slide left to right on the time at to scale in and out, I feel like no need to reinvent the wheel for such a simple but useful function

I think I have a feature request on the resizing of the timebar. Would be good if it followed the same technique as the timeline. drag up and down to resize

I found a feature request from a while ago. It has 10 votes. That’s surely enough for it to go to the top of the list.

Anyway go and upvote it
