Can Flame Assist open full Flame projects?

Hi all, hoping someone might be able to help here,

I’ve been recently promoted to studio manager after my boss retired back in January, I’ve recently hired on a new studio assistant, so I as step into my bosses shoes, the assistant steps into mine. My boss had worked for our company for 17 years, had used flame for nearly 10 years so there’s a decade of edits and commercials archived on his machine and drives.

The new hire has no experience with using Flame so it will definitely be a process of teaching him and obviously directing him to the flame learning channel too.

My subscription licences for our two machines are due for renewal early in July, and I’ve been wondering about getting full flame for myself and Assist for my assistant seeing as it’ll be a while before he’ll be competent with Flame to require the full suite. Hypothetically, if I were to get assist, if I needed to access my boss’ old edits, would they load and open correctly? They would’ve been created in Flame, not Assist, so I’m curious whether Assist could open a full suite file?

thanks for your time,

Luke

Yes, Flame Assist is able to open your Flame project without any issue. In case of advances VFX tools not available in Flame Assist, you will be able to render them but won’t be able to make modifications

Compare the differences here: Compare Flame, Flame Assist & Flare | Flame Family | Autodesk.
