This has been bothering me for years and maybe there is a button I don’t know but…why does Flame lose the connection as soon as you reformat a timeline. In my case i want to duplicate my 16x9 timeline reformat it to a social media format and my connection is gone. Flame also tells me that it is gone but why?!
Because it’s making new footage in a new format. I generally copy, delete everything but the reference or commited top layer, then copy and paste the footage from the original into the reformatted version. This way the footage remains connected and at it’s original size and aspect ratio. It’s actually faster this way because you are not reformatting and duplicating all the footage.
that’s what i do but to save the copying process it would be great if it could also work through the reformat.
a button would be great to be able to say that the material is the same…
It would be nice to reformat the timeline attributes without reformatting the footage. Put in a request.
