Corridor Key - OFX?

I know there is the other, more vaguely titled thread that people were posting their work on the Corridor Keyer, but with the new video and the new OFX (for resolve) I thought a dedicated thread should exist.

I downloaded the resolve plugin, but I’m not computer-skilled enough to know where the install put it to even try to point Flame towards it to see if it could work (what with being an OFX…)

But it sure would be nice if the OFX worked with Flame, so I’m hoping smarter folks will know how to get the OFX working in our beloved software. I mean, if I was Autodesk, I’d be making sure it worked. Don’t want us seeping over to Nuke just because it’s good at running the free keying plugin.

I want to key the way the young cool kids do!

I saw it this morning too. I think it be would very valuable to have as an OFX for flame.

MacOS: /Library/OFX/Plugins
Linux: /usr/OFX/Plugins

You’re saying it’s in the obvious place? I never would have looked there. Aaaand a restart of the software has Flame seeing it automatically.

(seriously, thank you Phil. :D)

So the default installation loads, and has the expected inputs. Most of it seems to operate, but it’s not generating the desired output. I think (and I could be wrong) its due to Resolve carrying the alpha channel with the image, which flame does not, but I don’t know. It’s at least doing …something when loaded into flame.

This is exciting!

OFX is a standard that is shared. But there are nuances that require testing and debugging. Also Blackmagic has at times made their own extensions.

It wouldn’t be surprising if a Resolve plugin doesn’t work unless the developer tested it.

Thank you, Phil!

I’m guessing this will only work in 2026?

I have the OFX working in 2025.2.5
Foreground into red input, Background into green input, and the same rough mask into the blue inputs.
From there, I use a Comp node to combine the background with the Foreground / Matte outputs of the OFX node.

I don’t think it looks quite as good as other implementations - I’m comparing it against the ONNX version @Nils made and renders from the EZ-CorridorKey app.
But if your background isn’t a checkerboard, maybe your results will be different.

It’s working-ish in 2026.2. I can get a despilled, but not divided fill out. All of the settings are grayed out.

It does have a habit of crashing flame. Not immediately, but usually when left alone for a few minutes, and every time the setup comes back with an autosave from before I loaded the plugin.

The author asked that I put in a feature request on the github page to indicated to other initiative-type people that there’s some interest in covering areas that aren’t on the author’s current to-do list. I’ve been meaning to do it, but I keep wanting to prep a bit more before i lay out a bunch of dumb “it broken” stuff.

I’m also getting a crash on save & auto-save.

Best to keep the OFX out of your Batches for now.

Let us know when you submit your feature request!

I haven’t done the feature request yet. Work got busy, then I went to Montreal, then my wife pointed out how many weeds the garden had, then my sister asked if I could move something heavy.

Also, because I’m shit at resolve, it’s hard to say “It should do X but it isn’t” and trying to work through that has definitely slowed me down. Haha.
