Apologies if this has already been answered somewhere on the forum — I’ve searched, but I might just be too stressed to spot it!
I’m dealing with a corrupted timeline in a project, and I can’t open Flame with the desktop that contains it.
I recall there’s a way to open the project without loading any desktop, but I can’t remember the steps.
If anyone can remind me how to do this, I’d be hugely grateful.
Last time this happened to me, I opened a different project, navigated to the trouble project through the mediahub, and then deleted the offending clip in mediahub.
this is a good idea.
@philm posted some flame launch –help in this thread:
We strongly recommend NOT sharing environment variables. These can be highly time sensitive and may not make sense for everybody. For example, there’s a very high chance the variable mentioned here was only effective during the 2026.1 Update beta cycle.
By sharing variables, you may prevent other users from using features, alter the performance of the applications, and such without realizing it.
The best thing to do here is to contact the support team so they can investigate the issue.
Same. Open different project. I knew the timeline with the corrupt BFX was my latest open on the desktop, so I moved it to an Library reel and renamed it for extra security. Booted up original project and it worked. Then I was able to find and delete the offending BFX.
I managed to sort it out. Actually, I couldn’t just delete the problematic clip. What I did was create a new project, open the project with the corrupted clip via the media hub, and load everything except the problematic clip itself. Then I deleted the whole project that had the issue.
Thanks a lot to everyone for the suggestions — they really helped. Forever grateful!
Have a great weekend!
My bad. Sorry about that
