Is there any way to set the date format on a project basis rather than user?
I have 2 projects that I am bouncing between, one uses YYYY/MM/DD and one uses DD/MM/YYYY. It’s a real PITA to have to keep changing it via user prefs depending on which project I’m in, would be so much better as a project pref.
No, it is not possible.
Looks like @fredwarren already answered the general question.
However, where are you using the date? I know I have an export preset that I built to have the date in both ways by using
It’s the burn in metadata node, for quicktimes. It’s a real PITA to have to keep changing the format, maybe it could be added as an option in the node?
It is an option in the node. Just build the token in the order that you want. Just tried it and it works both ways.
Like Ryland said, in the Burn-In Metadata node and Timeline FX the Date/Time has a field that can be configured to your liking using tokens. You can then save a setup/preset using the many different options to you.
And will that give todays date using the update button?
try it
validate it
move on
burn ins are epehemeral
more useful than slates
but only just
slates are the worse! I spend so much time slating shots when the title of the clip should be enough.
So, yes it does update!
Jon, I agree, but they do provide helpful info to editorial which you can’t put in the title of a shot.
