Distort/Combine Matchbox?

Hey All,

I’m looking to create a distort, combine effect from 2 different plates, and was wondering if there’s a matchbox or quick and easy way to do this? Of course there’s not a lot of time to get this done. I was looking into the deform node, but couldn’t quite get the desired results.

Thanks all!

I don’t think there is a one-button solution to this. Fastest would be to distort both clips with the same gradient and comp them together. You probably want to use a wide smoothness on the mask. You could try using crok_distort_blur or LS_splineblur matchbox to blur/smear the images along the gradient of your mask.

Thanks Sinan! I will do some experimenting.

Motion Vectors from one clip applied to another?

Pixel Spread Motion Vector Warp?

I was thinking something similar. Take your vectors from each clip, soft gmask mix them around where they meet. Pixel spread vectors or play with position maps in action. It’ll take some experimenting.

It almost looks like slit-scan

AE has an effect called “Time Displacement” that does this, I think.
