Excluding Portions of 3D Geometry

Hello Hive,

I have a 3D Geometry. Which is a Martini Glass. I’d like to exclude the stem portion of the glass to just utilize the actual drinking portion. I’ve tried making a big 3D cube shape and using that to hide the stem however it starts to do weird things to the Background of the image and sort of distorts the edges.

What would be the real way to do it w/in flame?

You can mask portions of the geometry (like the stem of the glass) in action by adding a GMask to the Geometry, but the mask is only working in a 2D style so if you need to rotate things at all it could get a bit funky.

What about using a texture with an alpha and position it to reveal only the part you need?
