I have many affect expressions, but they don’t work, of course. Flame has another way of writing the expression. Where can I find expressions for Flame? Is there a website, or is it here in the group? It would be more the start part of the command; I would change the x, y, z, or scale values according to what I need.
Hey brother,
Post the expression that isn’t working.

Working with Expressions in the Animation Editor
Give us an example of what it is you are trying to do. Expressions are pretty basic. Much less cumbersome than py, but also much more limited. I always found the examples in the manual to be frustratingly unclear, so feel free to ask here. I can think of 2 or 3 people that will be quick to respond.
My friend, how are you? How’s your garden doing? I’m using a batch file from the Logik portal, called streak_lights, but I can’t see the expression being used, even after clicking the E.
Highlight the channel and poke the Expression. button on the right
That’s the expression
It simply says to copy the x value to the y channel. Sorry it’s not more exciting.
Now it makes sense, I thought clicking would bring up a big expression, but thank you my friend, the other channels are animated, but there’s no expression, probably tracking on some footage that’s not in the batch.
if you use flame hotkeys you can select the channel and press ‘]’
which brings up the woefully inadequate expressions editor
WHICH HAS BEEN PATIENTLY AWAITING IMPROVEMENTS FOR MORE THAN TWENTY YEARS…
Sigh…
I may have some feelings about this…
You and me both. You have a garden?
I do.
I live in Oxanrd, CA and our soil is incredible, although we are struggling with stone fruits and olives right now. Spinach and strawberries however…
Nice.
I’m totally urban. 12x24 and 200ft up. I find the slow, long term satisfaction to be a great antidote for our get-it-done-yesterday business.
