Are you getting these issues using the provided Rocky Linux and DKU as is or in a custom installation?
I am using ADSK flame rocky and the dku. No funky stuff. The help desk are on it.
The install logs declare lots of missing services. But even when I install them manually, it does not work.
I’ve done loads of these installs without issue, but this machine is not playing ball. I presume that the installers have all the dependencies . The machine is behind a very restricted firewall.
No worry, I know the Support team is on the case.
The ISO contains all the required dependencies and could be installed without internet access.
Is it possible that you have installed applications via the Software Selection menu?
For those that are confronted by a similar issue, the core of my problem was that the necessary dependencies were not being installed at the OS level.
Why?
My sources were all intact. The problem was that, initially, I was modifying in the Rocky 9.5 Autodesk install OS page, the Software Selection. I am in the habit removing all the server etc apps that don’t seem necessary for the use I have.
After tens of reinstalls, ADSK help desk and I deduced that this tab was the issue. I am under the impress that just opening this menu was enough to override the ADSK installer script with the Rocky software offering, but I find it surprising.
So, in short, don’t touch the Software installation !!
Thank you for all your help … for such a silly issue.
But with the custom adsk’s rocky ISO, the Software Selection tab has always been locked
. I’d never thought it could be modified.
Hello @kily
The Software Selection has never been lock since we have no control on this option. But we will add to the documentation information about its usage so others will not get into this trap.
@chlowden this issue should not be new with our Rocky Linux 9.5 ISO. Do you remember installing a Flame workstation and modify the Software Selection with previous ISO and not get similar issue?
To be honest, I did a flame install 2 months ago in 2025, turning off some apps and I did not end up in the mess I gave been here. But I was always surprised because the CentOS install was always far more limited. I was under the illusion that the dku installed all the specific services.
Currently, my problem machine runs. It has a stack of IT admin apps also installed. But as flame works. I’m not bothered.
All said, app curiosity killed the cat , so to speak. I won’t be touching the software choices any time soon.
Happy to hear is all working as expected. We will update the documentation to ensure nobody else gets into this issue.
I’ve installed CentOS / Rocky Linux 34,562 times, and I’d have sworn on my ancestors’ graves that in Autodesk’s ISO, the packages section is disabled and locked. I just double-checked with a quick test on a VMware machine, and indeed, it isn’t locked. wtf ![]()
It would be nice if we could lock this item but sadly we cannot.
