I love it!

I’ve really been enjoying Jedi Survivor. Beautiful and pretty challenging. Great storyline as well.

It probably goes without saying, but Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is excellent. It makes Breath of the Wild seem dull and amateurish in comparison.

Just amazing.

Did you finish BOTW?

I have been playing this little VR game “Red Matter 2”. Really good game in VR.

Then trying to find time to learn this sound making machine:

No. I got it for my son and we played collaboratively. He would do shrines and fight bosses, I would noodle around in the overworld and restock his supplies. I’ve seen my son beat them game many times now; he’s gotten quite good.

Our parallel paths through ToTK were very different. I played many more hours and had a nearly maxed out character when I beat the game. He basically ran through the game nude, and had only half the map discovered when he beat it. I may be better at Elden Ring, but the kid runs circles around me in Zelda at this point. Haha.

I’ve gotten into Armored Core 6, which is a mech franchise by From Software. They haven’t made an AC game since they hit paydirt with the Souls games, and it’s a big departure from their modern body of work.

the TLDR is it’s fantastic.

I struggled a lot with it and I had made my peace that this would be the first Fromsoft game since Bloodborne that I would not get all the trophies for. It’s just too hard. The hardest trophy to get is “S-Rank all missions” which requires you to replay each mission to perfection. I hadn’t gotten a single S-rank. I did not have the chops for that; the last boss took me two days to barely win.

BUT THEN, I wanted to show my son a particularly hard boss pair so I booted up that fight and I completely destroyed them and got an S-rank on my first try. My new build (shout out to the VE-60SNA) was monstrous and I went on a rampage through the hardest bosses in the game. Bosses that took me days were melting before my eyes. I became a bloodthirstly mech-destroying monster, and with all the “difficult” bosses S-ranked, I’m now chipping away at the other missions to get that one last trophy.

It also does some cool stuff with repeated playthroughs were the missions alter, or you fight for the opposing side.

All the old AC games, even the strategy one, are awesome. Very fond place in my heart. I don’t have a console anymore or I’d be all over it.

Regardless of what you hear, Starfield is pretty good. I’m a big time fallout guy from the beginning, so seeing the genre in space is awesome. I’m only 20 hours in, but I’m hooked.

for what it’s worth. Haha.

70 hours in and I’m pretty sure I’ve still got a big chunk of the main storyline to get through.

I just got all the s-ranks in Armored Core 6, as well as the platinum trophy.

It was an odd feeling, a sort of, “Alexander wept as there were no more worlds to conquer.”

So I’m back on Elden Ring till Tekken 8 drops.

I’m no fan of Rockstar games. The last thing I liked of theirs was Read Dead Redemption and even that was a janky ass game with some good storytelling and GTA5 and RDR2 held zero appeal for me.

but holy shit do I like everything i see in that new GTA 6 trailer. It’ll probably still be a clunky controlling middle ground of a game like all the rest, but I do not care. That trailer has vibes.

see y’all in two days when the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer drops.

S-Ranked Armored Core 6 as well.

Now ive delved into the PvP world trying to craft the strongest build. 298hrs in and still going strong. Been tempted to get SF6 of BG3 but I only have so much time.

This is the game that will be seeing me through till Christmas. After sampling the demo, my son and I were hooked. A combination of sushi restaurant management game and diving adventure. The pixel art and animations are delightful.

Never knew I wanted to hear Brian Cox say, “and he threw his son off a cliff”, but here we are and I’m happy about it:

How did you like the Re4 remake? I played the original to death back in the day.

I have like 200 hours in They Are Billions. It’s so great! It’s a shame the studio that made it vanished like a fart in the wind.

The RE4 remake is amazing and 100% worth playing as well.

I’ve been on a tear of playing 4-player pve shooters lately…a lot of Back4Blood for a bit and now I’m pretty deep into Darktide. I somehow missed the Warhammer universe growing up so it’s taken some getting used to, but it’s a hoot of a game!

Also, Mount and Blade: Bannerlord is a fun dark ages strategy sim that lets you maraud around fake Europe. If your GPU can handle it, you can have first person 1000-unit battles, charging around on your horse and lopping off footmen’s heads. Tis a hoot!
