Went to film school and focused on directing and editing. A combination of timing and the right skill set jettisoned me from PA to editor. A few years later a friend who worked in software sales called me and said he wanted to start a VFX company. I had strictly done off-line at that point but I was definitely interested in starting something. A weekend crash course in Flame and I had my first job that Monday. It was a harrowing but perfect experience as we were inside an animation facility and were subcontracted directly with them so the director would come in, give me notes, and then check in at the end of the day. Trial by fire.
