New mechanical keyboard

For those hankering after the old ways - me included! here is a great mechanical keyboard just come out from Satechi. im going to try one!

The keyboard looks really good.
…I should also get a new one at work, I still have an HP Qwertz 434820-047 PS/2 here, the keys are slowly starting to jam.

I really love mine

Will those three keys where F13-15 be remappable? On my Keychron I had to move my Primary/Second/Blend to F9-11 for that reason. Still a nice backlit mech keyboard is a good choice.

It’s arrived. just trying it out now. first impressions are I like it. old school!

Yes I am one of those clowns that only uses mechanical keyboards and yes I store one in a locked vault in each city I frequent. Plus, Flame Artists with mechanical keyboards get to charge 11% more.

are you using this on a Mac? How are you finding the F keys? I just got this keyboard, and it drives me crazy that it doesn’t follow the software settings for F keys and Fn. I have to lock it normal F key mode, which causes the escape key to flash constantly and I hate seeing that flashing in my peripheral vision. Is that the same for you?

Hi

Yes im using it on a Mac. I find it good. I like the fact I can jump - from the keyboard - between function keys and apple functions. I do however hate the flashing escape button. Ive complained to them about that. Maybe if enough people complain they will change how it works

Otherwise I love this keyboard. I find it hard to go back to a laptop after this.

Can’t you pull the key cap off and disable the light?

I can take the key cap off. But the light is embedded.

Black nail polish inside the keycap . . .

The only way

Doesn’t bother me now though - ive got used to it

I can’t seem to get it to recognize my F13, 14 15 keys at all. Did you have that issue? Another annoying thing - it seems everytime the computer wakes up, it can’t identify the keyboard and launches Keyboard set up assistant every time…

Hey there,. Ah yes it doesn’t reconise those three. I dont think ive ever used those three!

I dont have the not recognising thing. Mine I leave wired no bluetooth used though

That’s a bummer. F13-14-15 is indispensible for compare workflow for me.
I’ll hang on to my DasKeyboard 4

yeah, me too - looks like I’ll be returning this one…
