Perspective Grid issue

Hi,

Having trouble with perspective grid, when I’m putting the movement back into the stabilised shot after cleanup, the changes I’ve made aren’t coming through

Can anyone help please?

Thanks!

OK fixed, sorry for panic. Had to wiggle to y axis a bit and it reappeared. Weird…

@theflamingoftheshrew - Unpredictable behavior fixed by random wiggle or restart?
Unheard of…

Hahaha, true

Actually I’m doing it again and it hasn’t solved the issue this time. The second action sees the layer until I connect the original perspective grid to restore the motion. When I switch off the background I get a black screen

Anyone have any ideas please? This usually works every time

Z depth?
Resolution change on layers?
Hate to say it but that whole mocha workflow is very reliable for something that should be flame native.
Moreover, that whole Syntheyes workflow is like an MMA six second takedown on flame…
Brutal and undeniable.

Bingo - seems to be the z offset in the perspective grid, if I set it to 2, it looks good enough

Would love to know why it’s suddenly doing this though :sob:

Thank you!

Sounds like you will want to check that your Z-buffer is turned Off in the Action node preferences.

Yeah that totally works, thank you! Is there a way to set that as default?

Adjust the setting and press Save to save the action setup, but in the save dialog, click the setup popup and select defaults. Theoretically adjusting all your Action preferences [ like Auto Add Surface (mine is off), etc] and saving them will work.

Amazing, thanks everyone!

Actually, not meaning too step on Sinan’s advice, the best way to create a default action is Action>Node Prefs>Objects&Maps>Default Setup>Set As Current Default. It is all-encompassing of the node, including any axis or images that you may want pre-set. A sample of my defaults is z-buffer off, Motion Blur off, but set to 30 samples and .5 shutter, and always both a comp output and a matte output.
