Poll on the Paint Node

My biggest request would be to be able to select all/some of the strokes in the edit tab so I can change their frame range info.

I very frequently forget to change from current frame to all frames or vice versa when trying to paint something up and its really annoying having to manually go through all the strokes when I feel like I should be able to select multiple. (maybe you already can…?)

Multi-selection in the edit tab is definitely something we’ve wanted for a long time. Range editing, group deletion, etc… Just being able to shift-click and select a range of strokes would be a big time-saver.

There is a python script in the portal that lets you edit some attributes like ranges. You might want to give that a go…

There is a feature request for this. I don’t have the link handy, but Ivar submitted it a few years ago.

The procedural behaviour of paint in Nuke is really good. The actual painting and brushes in flame are much better. But if we could steal the ability to group layers, switch on and off, change duration (in gui) easily as a group, track, etc then that would be great.

But all of this I’ve coped with by stabilizing the plate first and painting in small batches. And if it was a toss up between paint fixes and better lens distortion/geos with uv extraction/metadata integrity then I’d choose the latter.

I’ve added the ability to slip paint strokes in the paint node. The updated version of the script can be had on the Logik Portal.

I just used animated paint strokes in batch paint for the first time today (Flame 2023)

Worked just as @La_Flame said it would. :hugs:

Not sure what has changed in Flame 2024 but looking forward to checking it out.

The only change for the animated strokes in 2024 is that the Start and End channels now have buttons in the user interface so you do not need to dig in the Animation editor to modify them.

The 1 and 3 percent that never and rarely use it!? I am assuming you just use desktop paint instead? Interested to see if there is something I am missing here.

I still want the ability to select or lasso multiple paint strokes on the frame not in the UI because I can circle back so finding all the frames on a certain frame are hard to do but if I could just lasso them on the frame and press delete that would be a great time saver but that’s just my two cents for what its worth which clearly isn’t worth two cents.

You know you can change the slip value per paint stroke without feeding pint different inputs? I’m not sure why you would need multiple slipped mux nodes? Or is that to freeze certain frames?

I’m not sure that is true in 2024. I remember there was talk of removing that capability recently.

It is still there. You can slip an input from the Paint source list and then lock it to a specific frame.

In 2024 we also added the Add Still function which is similar to the Saved Buffer in Desktop Paint.

Thank you for the clarification.
