I’m evaluating several different alternative to PCoIP, both for Linux hosts and macOS. Windows can choke on the tears of a young Tibetan child.
I have only tested macOS agent so far. The performance is excellent. Very smooth and detailed video playback.
Setup was zero hassle. Connecting via their website/browser, zero issue, once you have all the macOS security prompts accepted.
And this is a big one for me, their support answered a bug report, in about a minute, at 7:30am PST.
We use Dell 40" monitors with a native resolution of 5120x2160, at which currently Reemo screen is just black. Let’s see how productive their support is in resolving that. Dropping the Rez to UHD, and it works flawlessly. Actually much better than Parsec.
@Alan did you install it on a box that is also running HPAnyware? Or was this a clean ‘testing’ kinda environment? I’m asking because I’m keen to put some of these through the paces as well. I just don’t have a great lab setup at the moment so I have to be careful not to bung up a production machine.
At first I was impressed that the CTO responded to my support case within a minute. But then I never heard back from him and it is over 24 hours. Yet another half ass software company. And I thought Teradici was lame.
I’ll try to give Parsec another chance. I did a proper testing of Reemo last night,
It is so fast. Feels completely local. No stutter, no tearing, so smooth and fast. On boarding of computers is super easy. Only tested Mac host to Linux Client so far.
BUT…
They advertise 4:4:4, and according to my testing it is not. See video below. I have yet to hear back from them on the 1st bug report (more than 48 hours now), and also on the 2nd bug. So not looking good as a reliable company.
