Rocky custom iso for Flame 2027 on HP Z8 G4

Hi friends, I am doing a clean install of Flame 2027 on my our HP Z8 g4 workstation. I accidentally installed a vanilla Rocky 9.7 before seeing that there is a custom Flame install. Do I need to wipe my install and start again? How important is the “Flame” ISO? Claude is telling me I can just install the DKU and move on but Claude says a lot of things…

Reinstall from the adsk iso
The media creation may take a minute but the install only takes 18 minutes - most likely faster than asking Claude or strangers what to do next

Yep, please install the adsk iso. That way you can ensure your flame runs as expected..

If adsk takes the time to create an iso with all the packages and libraries there is a reason!

I do remember years ago I tried to do exactly what you say, just install vanilla red hat and install the dku but meehh, that was a pain.

Copy that. Totally makes sense thanks guys.

The ADSK ISO and the DKU provided has everything you need to create a certified installation.

Don’t deviate.

Much appreciated.

I am undertaking the re-install of Rocky now. Unfortunately, when I try to boot from a USB flashed with the Flame specific ISO (using dd) it just reboots into a Grub prompt. Says Grub>

I’ve tried a few things but I’m really not sure where to go next with this. Maybe flash another ISO? Thoughts would be appreciated.

And… sorry for being that guy with the stupid morphing install questions… Excited for a clean install upgrade from 8.5. While Flame has run okay on it this box has always been a little funkity.

Maybe and legacy/uefi issue. Adsk’s isos migrated from legacy to uefi. With 9.3 you have to setup on your bios a full uefi boot and check again.
