I have never been more jealous of a person. Than I am of you right now.
@GPM I spent a month in the Jamaica Bay Inn in Marina Del Rey whilst working over there. It was meant to be three months but I started to go a bit Shining after week three. Fortunately the nice VFX facility I was working with agreed to move me to a lovely AirBnB just off Abbot Kinney which was a whole lot nicer. Stayed in the same place 3-4 times since. This was all before lockdown of course when travelling for work, other than shoot attends, was a thing.
@Igor We need a Tim-Bit emoji for you! 1/8 of ----> ![]()
You west coasters have no appreciation for the industrial chic aesthetic.
I moved 2,5 month ago from Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Mumbai, India
to work there on site as Sr. Flame Artist at Prime Focus.
And wow, everything is different. If you think you have seen some crazy markets,
think again. Around 30 flames all the time occupied, jobs has to be finished in 2 days, where in Netherlands we had
maybe 1 or 2 weeks for the same kind of job. So people work around the clock 24/7.
Assistants doing roto (matte cutting) and cleanup during the night. I can talk on and on about it. I was looking for a new adventure and more work. And my prayers were definitely heard ![]()
Sounds similar to what I saw at shops in Seoul. Bunk beds for staff because they actually sleep overnight, or in shifts.
Covent Garden, London.
And its sunny!!
Just touched base in LA like two weeks ago. First time ever relocating to another country! Happy to see some vertical reelers strolling around (I’m also ok with these horizontal mates).
Any good recommendations regarding food, drinks, fun stuff?
P.s. pic was taken when jet lag let me wake up like 1am. What’s better than enjoying sunrise!
I dig Japadog on the Santa Monica Pier. Closed in Tuesdays.
