Rookie question: XMLs. Step by step?

Hi Flamers!
I’m a long time After Effects user, currently going through a furlough. My workplace has decided to invest in Flame, so I’m thinking now is my chance to start my Flame-education, and learn how to online in it.

I’m used to the Premiere / After Effects -workflow when dealing with XMLs, graded files and audio mixdowns. But I haven’t gotten into the XML-workflow in Flame yet.

Could someone write me a short step-by-step? It would be much appreciated

What I have tried:

  1. Dragging the XML into Flame and creating a timeline, but getting only missing links to all clips and audio
  2. First importing all footage, then importing the XML - still ending up with missing links to all.

Thank you all!
Greetings from Martin in Norway

If it’s relevant, I’m using the trial version of Flame 2025, on a Macbook Pro M1, Sonoma.

Hey @ibakhodet welcome to the community.

Conforming in Flame might be a daunting task sometimes. When it works it works great, but to get the hang of it you’ll need some guidance.

Check out the Flame Learning Channel on youtube… You can start with this video.

Take a look at the Logik Academy Pro. The Flame Assist 101 and 201 has great content for beginners.

I also live and work in Oslo, hit me up if you want to grab a couple of beers
