I need new music. What are you listening to?
I rarely listen to music anymore and have turned to audible for books on tape, I do this when I run as well. I find that I zone out to a good story than any song that can only last for a few minutes. I would give you some suggestions but I am worried you might judge me or maybe you’re already judging me for not providing some suggestions.
Brian Eno’s “Film Music” albums if you’re into Movie scores when working(which I am), these are pretty good substitute/addition.
Lately it’s been the Lumineers entire catalog back to back. Then there’s a fair amount of Lord Huron, Caamp, Josh Ritter and William Elliott Whitmore.
When it’s crunch time though there’s no substitute for Daft Punk’s Alive 2007. Old habits die hard…
I actually went back to vinyl, standin up every few minutes to stretch and change vinyl has been outstanding in terms of wellbeign.
Crazy but you know…
I prefer to work in silence.
I always pictured you preferring tape hiss to silence. I stand corrected.
OK, room tone, but no one knows what that means any more, so I just say silence.
Frankly I prefer Middle C.
This week and last it has been mostly Underworld Second Toughest in the Infants remaster.
I was also quite taken with this playlist for a while.
I think it’s the same on Spotify
I was listening to Carpenter Brut’s Blood Machines soundtrack a lot over the summer, and I’ve just gotten into La Bottine Souriante. It’s Quebecois folk music and a nice detour for me as I usually listen to very loud things made by people who wish they were giant robots.
Thanks for this. I hadn’t realized they’d remastered them, and there are tracks on here (and the dubnobasswithmyheadman remaster) that I only ever had as low-fi Napster mp3s. Fantastic stuff!!
Make all the John Cage jokes you want, but I’ve been on a Minimalist kick for a year or two now. It’s fantastic to work to. I’ve got a playlist if anyone else wants to get repetitive!
I am so sad that Daft Punk disbanded this week.
As a company we’ve been releasing public playlists every once and a while on Spotify. Generally speaking these are the playlists that we would be listening to in the office when we had clients in.
There are a few 24 hour collections that might interest you. Check them out.
We’ve found it to be a fun way to reach out to clients on social media that is not exclusively ‘work’ related.
I still listen to them all the time in the BG or for the drive to and from work.
Valentine’s 2021 took me through the afternoon, thanks. That’s nice.
Randy, this is a psychotic mix of everything I like. Best listened to on random play. I’m not sure if it will appeal to you or not, but here we are:
Challenge accepted!!!
