would anyone consider a black bg but having green or blue screen from the neck up?
I wish there were the budget or time for that. We’ll be shoehorning in on the back of another shoot, for a quick shoot on a tiny stage.
This is something we’ve discussed, though due to the change in the dolly camera perspective over the 30 seconds, it would probably only work well for a portion of the whole shot.
Do they have the BG figured out yet? Maybe this is a good time to consider a volume wall?
Came here to say this… This is the exact usecase… even if it’s just for the reflections, then roto the rest… like… they… do … on that show. 
Can be done relatively cheap… don’t need a full 360… just a wall probably.
