Shots Sequence workflow - getting work/ref pic to compers

Hi all! I’m poking around in Connected Conform yet again, and have gotten my test conform to where I have all my shots lined up, deduped, shot named, and segment renamed all pretty. Has anyone come up with a good way to get the work/ref pic chunk relevant to each shot into the appropriate batch group for each shot?

I thought maybe I’d just cut the wpx onto the bottom layer of each spots conform and slice it up per shot, but that would break the deduplication. Shots used in multiple edits that had nice matching src tc etc would suddenly get a unique layer of workpic underneath them, defeating the purpose of the Shots Sequence.

Any ideas? “Have the comper ask the artist holding the timeline” will work, but is inelegant.

What do you mean by deduped? I’m not sure what you’re trying to do.

Is this for long form or TVC? For TVC I don’t use a shot sequence. I put the reference picture under the plate, select both and context menu “Create Batch Group” for each shot. Not ideal for long form but it works for commercials where there’s maybe 15 or 20 shots at the most.

Deduplicated. If there’s a shot that’s in 6 spots, the shots sequence makes one shot that’s linked to all of them.
