The problem with black color on the edge

Hello. Before I ask my question
please understand that my English might sound a bit awkward since I used a translator.
I still often use a lot of “Action” nodes when compositing. For example, in one “Action” node, I partially key an area, adjust the color, extract the alpha of the color-corrected area as an output, and then connect that output to another “Action” node. In that second node, I sometimes need to mask part of the extracted area again to adjust the color of that specific region.

I’m sure many of you have had similar experiences.
However, the problem is that when I color-correct the masked area in the second “Action” node, the edges often turn black. I’ve been using Flame for 10 years, and this issue still hasn’t been resolved.

Recently, though, I noticed that when using the new “Selective” feature — by masking with a modular keyer within one “Action” node and adjusting colors outside with a GMask — the black edge issue doesn’t occur.
But in complex projects, it’s often impossible to handle everything within a single “Action” node.

I think this might be a problem related to “premultiply” and “unpremultiply.”
Is there any way to solve this issue?

Can you share your batch?

Hard to tell exactly what’s going on from a screenshot.

Based on the information you shared and your screenshot, I believe Flame is handling everything correctly. If you want to avoid the edge issue, you can add an action after mux7 and do the color there. Make sure not to pipe in the matte from your first action; otherwise, you will run into the same issue. Also, I don’t think using the fill from your media as a matte in your first action is a good idea.

I don´t understand that workflow to grade shots using actions. ¿Why don’t you use Image nodes?. You can stack as many color corrections as you need without any comp issues.

I think I figure out your issue. Let me know if you understand.
I reproduce what your are doing in simple node.

And that would be the way to fix it.

Cheers
