well, after a few days of validation, 2027.1 is non-optimal and we will yet again, after having to skip 2026, 2026.1, 2026.2, 2027, now also be skipping 2027.1…fucking pathetic. 2025.2.7 is the king, and unfortunately the version my career will end on.
At what point, and this is a question not an assumption or a foregone conclusion, do advancements in tools, scripting, backend, etc make up for minor decreases in speed?
There are simple advancements which I would be willing to take a hit on. Stability is another matter of course.
That is valid, but we are seeing library operations take 3x longer, rendering take 13% longer. Certain function don’t work at all. So we see it more as a regression in capabilities, not a progression. The Automatte functions are comical compared to SammiRoto. The only benefit we would gain from 2026+ is Metadata passthrough, and we already have a solution that we have been running for years.
Oh come on…
I thought your final version was going to be 2025.1 or something.
Or 2025.2 or something.
And now 2025.2.7 or something?
Poly market is going crazy about which is your final version.
(I confess I don’t really know what poly market is - probably some gambling software or something like that)
I do plan on upgrading to 2027.1 soon, but also have been quite happy with 2025.2.2 for a while.
