Virtualhere Rocky 9.5 (sunshine/moonlight)

I looks like rocky 9.5 is not compiled with vhci_hcd which causes virtualhere to not work, i wanted to use it as a teradici replacement

  1. HP is ghosting me , not getting a license, or a trial, or anything , they just dont react to anything …

  2. DVC is a no-go after messing with it for too long, hotkey issues e.t.c.

Moonlight/sunshine seems the most easy and solid for remote desktop on linux, hotkeys work, playback is insanely good, sound works - bitrate is good, no 4:4:4 but i can live with that I guess for now… single screen only but thats all still very doable as my broadcast gets out via ultragrid anyhow.

So i wonder, has anyone gotten VirtualHere working with rocky 9.5? any workaround?

Just dnf install vhci_hcd as Randy showed in the other post.

so whatever the pcoip installer installs makes it possible to install that kernel module?

crazy

curl -1sLf https://dl.anyware.hp.com/DQc5UQL6NpoGOd0u/pcoip-agent/cfg/setup/bash.rpm.sh | \
sudo distro=el codename=9 bash && \
sudo dnf install -y \
pcoip-agent-graphics \
usb-vhci

for reference.

epel-release and enable crb

Just a reminder than modifications done to the OS prevent us to support your configuration in case of challenges. But you already knew that, right ? :wink:

but if it gets installed during teradici / anyware / which is a supported thing - it should be ok right?

But yea i am not counting on anyone supporting the wild things that i am doing :joy:

It should be fine if the HP Anyware installation adds some package since we can validate that on our side. But that would be a package installation and not a kernel upgrade.
