Wacom issues

This may have covered, but every-time I switch projects, I have to reset the wacom, as the pen doesn’t line up position wise with the menus. I’ve had this issue at 3 companies now, (flame 2025).
Does anyone know of a permanent workaround, rather than having to unplug / replug every-time I switch.

You can try changing operating systems for your client workstation from which you remote connect to the various companies.
This, combined with local user management on your side can ensure consistent communication between your devices and the remote workstation.
If you are using a mac to remote to other firms, you can try running a UBUNTU vm in VirtualBox, or you can be out on the fringe and use the macOS native hypervisor.
This requires some setup and is not a 10 minute workaround.

Remoting into linux from mac

if you have enough ram, storage and time you can install something push button like Oracle VirtualBox. (not the best solution by a long stretch but practical to begin with)

Once installed you can create a Virtual Machine with a robust device I/O for each company for whom you are working.

i.e. UBUNTU-company-01, UBUNTU-company-02, UBUNTU-company-03

You start by creating a UBUNTU Virtual Machine template that includes an internet browser and the most up to date Wacom Driver.
Then you copy this VM for the quantity of connections that you need to make.

The advantage of using separate VMs for each company is that you can safely(mostly) store authentication credentials and configurations in each VM with no pollution.
i.e. you’re not inadvertantly sharing secrets between company 1, 2 and 3.

The advantage of running your VPN connection to the remote facility in a VM is that you can use your macOS host native clipboard to copy/paste into your VM and therefore to your remote workstation.

Sometimes your partners/employers will require that you block clipboard or specific I/O access.

The big picture here is that you can start to define what it means to be a trusted collaborator in trusted networks and you can work with IT departments to ensure that you are working within the defined security posture.
This is not always relevant - it depends on your collaborators.

I’d try a Shift + T + Insert if you’re using Flame Hotkeys

Thanks John, I’ll give it a try next time I switch projects

Yep, that worked!

you have an insert key on a mac keyboard?
