Now with the new colour setup in 2026 it seems to have disappeared. It gave a much nicer, softer transform for ARRI footage, than the “correct” transform. Any way we can get it back? It was really useful, and IMHO essential when dealing with ARRI footage, which I am now. I’ll have to do all colour conversion in an older version of Flame. If anyone can point to an alternative or anything would be much appreciated.
what is the “correct” transform?!? (there is no correct way to convert log material to display, its all creative - technically a “correct” transform would be untonemapped and look HORRIBLE and clipped)
the Alexa rendering is just alexa K1S1 LUT applied on top of logC3 thats the “classic” lut you get from the arri lut generator
also probably want to pick 12 bit integer and not 16bit for log data.. but yea
my showgrade thats default from the linked uses the non classic but newer logc3 to rec709 LUT by default but you can replace it with anything you want.
Rufus, the “Alexa rendering” view transform was the old ARRI “K1S1” LUT which is available from the ARRI website along with their newer view transforms.
It’s straight forward to add 3D-LUTs from digital cinema camera vendors as view transforms in Flame. Here is the link to the page of the user manual. Please let me know if you have any questions.
In addition, please keep in mind that the old Flame color settings are available via the “Legacy” OCIO config presets when you create a new project (e.g. Legacy/ACES 1.1).
