2026.1 and 2025.2.4

is it ok to have both these versions running on the same Mac or Linux box?

Many Thanks
M

How long have you been here?

I’m running both on Linux just fine. I believe if you’re on a Mac, you need to install the older version first.

I generally don’t install multiple versions on Linux. I keep each previous version on their own boot drive. I seldom return to previous versions because I time my upgrades to happen when I’m slow so that there is little crossover with jobs.

2025 and 2026 have some pretty fundamental differences in project and color management.

While they may run ok, and you got at least one person saying they don’t have problems, that may be a combination that’s not ideal.

So it may be fine, but if you can avoid it, I would.

Just try it.
You may be aware that not everyone here has permissions to install flame, let alone two versions.
If your hardware is qualified you’ll be unlikely to run into massive issues.
I’ve installed and run 17 different versions of flame on this workstation.

There is no problem running 2025.x and 2026.x on the same workstation.
