i have the new amd ryzen 9950x
196Gb of ram (4x 48GB) and a RTX4090 . Asus ProArt X670E wifi
→ as “always” (idk why I am that lucky i had 0 % problems getting rocky 9.3 with nvidia drivers to just install from the DKU, no errors, nothing weird everything was way faster up and running than any mac flame.
the only thing was actually booting the mainboard with 196GB of ram and the new cpu, requires bios flashback and then getting rocky 9.3 to boot using uefi was a bit weird as I had to turn on CSM in the mainboard apart from disablening secureboot and TPM.
ram runs at jusr 3600Mhz because its double sided, from a pure performance standpoint … running 2 sticks is probably a better idea to get higher clocks but my reasoning is … if I run out of ram things are bad. and the new AI complilation stuff might require a lot of ram, so… Yolo lets see what happens.
So yea chipset is supported, networking works Out of the box.
Going to get some performance reviews here gping soon, apparently the 9950x is really super good in linux from looking at benchmarks so …
