Anamorphic Syntheyes to Flame Workflow

Hey guys ,

It’s been a few years since I last worked on a true 2:1 anamorphic job. Right now I’m having a problem round tripping between flame and syntheyes.

My current workflow is,

Export the squeezed 2:1 shot for syntheyes. On import in syntheyes I choose the 2.0 anamorphic squeeze. I track and get a pretty decent solve. Then export to “Autodesk Action/DVE”. However when I import the action node from syntheyes my camera track has been squeezed again. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

You have use ratio on and you’re sure you’ve got your correct aspect ratio baked into what you’re using as the back plate for the syntheyes action? Does the same thing happen if you export FBX from syntheyes?

Hey! Thanks for the response. I finally got it working with FBX, not exactly sure why that worked and not Action, but if I can figure out what happened I’ll report back.
