Anyone using the new Wacom Intuos 2025 tablet?

Hi all, curious if anyone has started using the new 2025 version of the Wacom Intuos tablet. Looks like all the physical controls have moved to the top. Any feedback on what you like, dislike, Flame compatibility on Mac and Linux, are appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve been using it for a month now.

I’m happy with the feel and the extra tablet space. I’m still figuring out the pen buttons though. Something has changed with the mapping as pen4 is not right clicking at the moment.

I also cant get the dials at the top to do anything in the Flame environment. When I get some time I’ll try and work out if I can map one of the dials to the volume control.

Apart from that it feels nicer than the intuos 4 I was using.

I feel like that is a plus to many of us. Haha.

I don’t have any experience with the new Wacom. I got tired of the old and switched to Xencelab, which also has a 3 button pen (before Wacom did). It works great with Flame both Mac and Linux, and it’s app makes it easy to map pen buttons. The tablet only has 3 buttons at the top, and then dial and extra buttons are an optional separate unit - which I prefer. I also like that the buttons on that pen have physical feedback when you press them.

Does it work well with Teradici?

Ive just started using it. Feels pretty good so far. I got the large one and it’s quite a bit smaller than the old Intuos. but much more pen area. much slimmer and I really like the new pen

Mine arrived and I like it. I’ve always used a Medium size and what I like about this one is it’s almost pure edge to edge usable surface. Similar to how bezels have shrunk with most monitors, there’s less excess area around the pen/drawing area, so it has a smaller footprint and it’s significantly thinner than previous versions. Pen feels fine and perfectly usable. As a lefty I’ve never been the best person to give feedback on the pen’s buttons. I have not jumped into using the dials, buttons, or customization yet, but overall I’m pleased.

If you get something going with the dials in flame let me know. I can’t get anything to work.

as well as being smaller ive had to reduce the mapping area as the new area goes right up to the edge of the tablet. so your hand sort of falls off the edge, all ok though. Ive even got used to the smaller size.

Yeah I did that too when I first got it but now it doesnt bother me because the tablet is so thin

ive been using it for a few weeks now. and overall I like it. just it feels a bit cheap to me. like it might break!

How’s the pen Jon, I do feel the more recent pens aren’t built as well as the old ones.

Hello,

I have just come across a bug using the new WACOM Intuous Pro 2025.

If you are using this tablet with the new supplied pen and running Particle Illusion, expect it to crash. The only work around at this stage is to use the mouse or change pens

I’ve uninstalled / reinstalled drivers, changed a ton of settings in the wacom app but still have the issue.

One other quirky thing is that if you have an older intuos pen, and it works with the tablet, Particle Illusion does not crash. So there’s some weird thing going on with the new pen.

That’s a really odd set of circumstances.

On Flame on which Linux version does it work ? Can you see it under the Gnome Settings/Devices/Wacom ? Does pressure sensitivity work ?

The lucky one who came to at the HP booth at IBC had the pleasure not only to meet me but also saw the new Intuos pro tablet, which is now part of our System Requirements.

As you have seen, the button have been moved to the top, the pen had been redesign with multiple buttons (which you will probably need some time to get used to). The Rocky Linux driver on RL 8.x and 9.x supports the tablet but there is no GUI to map the buttons, which means they are not active, something many of your might prefer. The driver does not come from Wacom but from the community so I guess you might see an update later.

On macOS, a driver update is required.

We have not yet used it with HP Anyware but will let you know.

You’ll have to pry the pen of my trusty Intuos 3 out of my cold, dead hand Stephane! :winking_face_with_tongue:

@MLandon - is that ethos? Or the possibility that there has been no equipment purchased in the last few years?

:face_blowing_a_kiss:

Nope. That’s my personal tablet. They wanted to give me an Intous 5, but I denied it. I don’t need a “touchscreen tablet” thank you! :winking_face_with_tongue:
