Batch paint node Annoying Front/result offset?

Hello everyone,

I am getting a super annoying error when I use batch paint. The front and result have different offsets. Is anyone getting this error? And It also effects my clone source as well. IT paints with the offset.

Flame Version 2024.2.3.218

Yes I have,

  • Check the offsets on the paint node.
  • Check the compare settings.
  • Reset the brushes.
  • Reset the user.
  • Restart the Flame/Machine.
  • Pray to the Flame gods…

Thank you for your time.

Front and result “seem” to have a slight (0.5-1 pixel) offset by default. Even without any paint strokes if I do F1 F4, I see a subtle shift. This I presume is due to the fact that their viewing samples are different.

Considering this, you might want to check your viewing settings:
Use ratio : on/off
Filtering : on/off

Not saying it will solve your issue, but worth a look.

Try check your output in a mux with a context ?

Unsure if a solve to your problem… but I always do paint with the zoom on the Viewer set at multiples of 100. Originally, this was to reduce filtering, not sure if still an issue in Flame but its muscle memory.

EDIT - and agree with @Sinan. View (on the far right) > Image > Filtering always set to off.

HI Sinan,

Thank you for your answer. I tried that stuff, but nothing changed.

I never remember that I was annoyed this much before. I remember that there is a slight offset, but it wasn’t that much. Or I am getting too old to get annoyed by this kind of stuff.
I am going to check this with the old versions. Also, since I need to fix pixels on the shot, it might be the reason I see that much difference.

Anyway, thank you for the answer!

Cheers.

Best way to check is to use a difference node before and after the paint node, before you do any paint work.
