Flame license worldwide?

Hello. I am wondering: I am currently located in Mexico City. What happens to my license if I travel to another country (Lets say France)? Does it keeps working as usual or do I have to contact Autodesk?

@julioleon - should just work

It just works…. I’ve had my Flame license for years in NYC. Now I’m using it in Ireland and it hasn’t missed a beat.

you are probably going to be just fine

however, licensing is super nuanced, just because it works doesnt mean it doesnt go agaisnt some small print in some license agreement.

I wouldnt worry at all about it personally, but if I was a global company with 50000 employees roaming the world i would at least let a lawyer read this mumbo jumbo.

Autodesk has defined a list of Approved Countries where the subscription can be assigned and used by Users located anywhere.

  • Countries that are not on the list of Approved Countries are called non-Approved Countries. If the subscription was purchased in a non-approved country (not on the list), then:

    • The subscription can only be assigned and used by users who live and work in that country

    • It can also be used in any other non-approved country

    • Or for travel up to 90 days in a 12-month period in a country on the Approved Countries list

Mexico purchased license does NOT include global useage rights … so if you travel to france that would fall under Or for travel up to 90 days in a 12-month period in a country on the Approved Countries list

now - do I know why that is? no , i am guessing there might be some cheaper licenses available for certain products in the “not approved list”? so they dont want all the US companies to just buy licenses via mexico, no idea.. similar to how foundry is giving weekly rental licenses to not every country…

Thanks everyone, this is very helpful

I contacted my reseller and I was informed that my license can only be used for 90 days outside my country (Mexico). Not good…

just use a VPN that puts you back in Mexico, and then not have to worry about this.
