I am using Flame 2026 trial on macOS.
Some times I leave apps open and only close the screen to have some break.
What I noticed with Flame 2026 is that after reopening my screen, Flame UI has gone bigger as it was zoomed in and it says Flame (not responding). I can only force quit.
You could instead lock the screen for your break rather than close the lid, OR you could electrify the lid so you don’t try to close it. But I feel like the first option is probably better.
Flame in particular is very sensitive to any changes in the monitor current configuration. Changing one of the input a/b switches on a monitor, using a KVM or turning off a monitor notifies the OS to update the position/location of app windows, and if those apps are not designed to handle changes in resolution or position without a restart, they may crash. With the advent of Display Port and other ‘intelligent’ display protocols, this has become incredibly annoying on both Windows and MacOS. I can’t speak to Linux currently with regards to display port.
We’ve tried KVMs that support EDID (the method of communicating between monitors and the computer), EDID emulators and other hacks to ‘fool’ the OS into think a monitor is still connected and set up, but have yet to find a device that works 100%.
