Having trouble with Slate Maker script

Hey there!

I’m having trouble getting the Slate Maker script to do it’s thing. To the best of my knowledge I have created a .csv file using one of @MikeV supplied templates as a starting point. I also have my .ttg set up.

Here’s my process:

Right click on the clip to be used for the background(in this case 1920x1080 422HQ)

Aim the browsers to the correct places.

Once I hit Create Slates I get this:

Then Flame hangs there with the above message. It’s never Done, I have to force quit. It does however create a new library which is called -Slates-. There’s one slate in there labled with the right file name, only with no type applied. I’m hoping at some point to see all 22.

I’m getting this error in the shell:

I just installed Logik Portal and this is my first foray into python. I’m obviously missing a crucial step here.

I’m on 2024.2.2 on a Mac Studio M3 Ultra / Sequoia 15.5

A. call @MikeV

B. install 2026.1 - because - well you know why

It looks like the clip you’re trying to use for the slate background is locked for some reason. You could try right-clicking on the clip and unlocking it or maybe duplicate the clip. Hopefully it should work after that.

I’ll try a different clip. I noticed the lock in the error but it’s not locked in the desktop. I’ll report back. Thanks @MikeV !

Another good thing to check is to make sure Protect From Editing is turned off in preferences. The scripts needs to be able to edit the clip, which for some reason it seems to be unable to do.

BOOM!!! @MikeV
