Hey Bryan and Mike, thanks so much for this. Having a bit of a tech issue over here and not entirely sure if its a pipeline issue on our end or a larger conflict. Is the uber slate maker v2 supposed to have a ‘slate maker’ tab of its own to batch generate slates to start? Or do you still need to have two tools installed (slate maker and uber slate maker)? I ask because in flame 2027 when i right click on three assets that have the new type set up like youv recommended, I dont see the slate maker tab at all. I do if i download the slate maker, but logik only shows the legacy slate maker kit from 2023 as downloadable and it wont work with the 2026 and 2027 updates. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
First - Sorry for the confusion in my tutorial video. I had the scripts set up to make the right-click menu folder be called ‘slate maker’ but when we updated the logik-portal download it was renamed to ‘uber slate maker’. So there shouldn’t be separate folders called slate maker and uber slate maker if you get the script from logik-portal.
Next - I’m not sure what the issue is with it not showing all of the scripts within the menu folder. Make sure your slates are not open as sequences. Flame needs to see them as clips and not sequences. Also make sure each one ends with ‘16x9’ ‘1x1’ ‘9x16’ etc.
Let me know if that helps or give me more description of the issue and I’ll try to sort it out.
The latest version of Uber Slate Maker that’s on the Logik Portal won’t work properly with 2027. It’s for 2027.1. I need to update that version number on the portal. All the cool new stuff Bryan added needs the metadata updates that were done in 2027.1.
If you’re using 2027 go to the page below and scroll all the way to the bottom and download v1.3.1. However with that version of the script you won’t get all the cool stuff Bryan added.
You don’t want the old Slate Maker script. That’s for old versions of Flame without the Type Node.
