Mocha Pro won't launch - "Mocha is starting"

Flame Linux 2025.1, running Mocha Pro 2022.5. Launching Mocha, it gets hung up on the “Mocha is starting” dialog box interminably, and I have to cancel out. I’ve seen before that Mocha will take maybe 10 or so seconds to initialize, but never completely stalling out. Nothing is new in my system since I last used it, so it’s odd. I’ve tried rebooting, etc.

I guess I can try reinstalling it later, but curious if anyone else has seen this? Thanks.

The ‘Mocha is starting’ dialog is on the screen as long as Mocha is running, only goes away after you exit Mocha. So that part is normal.

Have you hit ‘Opt + Tab’ to see if the Mocha window is possibly behind Flame?

I’ve seen a few times where Flame popups ended up behind the main window, usually though during startup and config issues.

Also, if you have the standalone app installed, try running that from a terminal to see if there’s a problem with Mocha itself or just Flame launching it?

Lastly, are you sure the front input of Mocha is pointing to valid footage? Over in Nuke there’s a persistent odd issue with OFX Mocha, if the viewer isn’t pointed at the right node, Mocha starts with a single frame instead of the whole clip. Only to say, Mocha is sensitive to the type of footage you feed it. Maybe point it at something else, some simple .mp4 clip just to troubleshoot.

this…

Well don’t I feel dumb. Thanks!
