More licensing shenanigans

In the middle of a short render I was inconvenienced with a hard Flame lockup requiring a force kill.

This handsome terminal message appeared upon restart machine and Flame application.

/opt/Autodesk/Synergy/SynColor/Shared/transforms DONE

Resetting licensing in the Flame Setup and multiple reboots proved unsuccessful.

Confirmed active licensing and credentials in manage.autodesk.com.

Reset Firefox and logged out of any Autodesk website and cleared cache.

Uninstalled and reinstalled Flame. Unsuccessful.

Support case ensued.

Thanks Jeffrey for the quick response.

Another thing to look at is the lock file on your license manager.

  1. Navigate to the user’s profile .config folder: /home/users/%userprofile%/.config/Autodesk
  2. Verify if there is an Autodesk Licensing Manager.conf.lock file in that folder.
  3. If the .lock file exists in this folder, make a copy of the .lock (to have as a backup) and remove the original .lock file.
  4. Launch the product.

All support cases I’ve had in the last few years are licensing related.

Thanks for the heads up info. You are a pioneer, making computing safe for us all.

I prefer settler. Pioneers ended up face down in a river with an arrow in their back. Settlers ended up in log cabins eating cornbread and bacon for breakfast.

Looks like Autodesk licensing has got itself a long bow and a few arrows of its own.
