MXF image has blanking problem with black edge

Thanks @juff
Tag the resolution as coming from the Arri Alexa Open Gate LF format. Even though it saw it as the same resolution if you just leave it as “same as source” for whatever reason it understood something under the hood to see the clip properly.

I needed to turn off this Scale To Fit Resolution button for it to work.

Hello group!

Welcome to the ever changing world of digital camera acquisition and the infinite formats

ARRI introduced the support for LF Open Gate ARRIRAW 4.5K: 4448 x 3096 last sprint. The media container is 4480x3096 but the image area is 4448x3096, which explains the black like you see on the edge. The workaround you have posted is what you need to use for now until we release a version of Flame which would produce a 4448x3096 clip from the image area and not the full container size.

See here for a full list of formats: https://burgercamera.com/arri-alexa-lf-sup-4-3-update-released/

Thanks for reporting the issue and we will keep you updated when a version the fix will be available.

In addition to manually setting the resolution and turning off “Scale to Full Resolution,” I had to set the Fill Method (in General, under Resolution) from Fill to Centre/Crop.

Hello group!

Our upcoming Flame Family 2022.2 Update solves the issue of the current thread! When you will browse media files from ARRI cameras and others (MXF or QuickTime) where there is metadata about Clean Apperture, we will set the resolution of the clips to the expected resolution so no more manual modification or head-scratching when importing media or conforming sequences.

Look at the Release Notes here for more details about 2022.2 Update: Help

Have fun and thanks again for reporting the issue.
