FI-01397 Action: Support for Project and User node bins.
Just so you know, we looked at this when we did the improvements to the Nodes Bins in 2024.1 and 2024.2 and adding them to Action is much more complicated than a simple improvement.

I’m aware, and grateful for the batch node bin improvements.
I always use that for navigating around large batches.
Today I learned (found) a solution to the ever annoying edit box disappearing…
How often have you enabled edit box while rotoing something, then you briefly adjust a point individually, the ‘edit box’ is still enabled but has disappeared. So you click edit box twice to turn it off and then back on…
The cool thing about edit box is that can apply to a subset of the vertices, you can always ctrl-drag to select a few and use the edit box on that.
But what happens when you adjust an individual point, the edit box looses a multi-point context and is not displayed, even though you remain in edit box mode.
The way back is to hit Ctrl-A to select all points of the mask, and the edit box is right back where you left it.
(also re-learned to use the mask inputs of the comp node w/o F/B to get access to all the composition modes of masks - other examples out there use F/B for masks, but you lose the composition modes)
Ctrl-E also toggles edit box mode, at least if you’re using the proper hotkey set.
“Proper”
Today I learned that when working in 2+ up, you can have different gamma settings in each window.
Today, I learned that if you double click the divider bar in two up, It returns the factory default
I’ll add to the theme. I finally configured my custom batch layouts and mapped them to keyboard shortcuts. F13…F16 for a few options at a finger tip while you work. 1-up, 3-up, and 2-up with batch schematic and 2-up with action schematic.
Speaking of keyboard shortcuts - Insert on Mac or F13 on Linux is the step function for the gMask tracker when you advance the tracker manually while keeping the pen ready to adjust vertices.
2024.1
Today I learned that If a shot’s timeframe is erratic and starts with, for example, 1000000. frames, Action motion blur doesn’t work correctly.
I find that flame tops out at about 100,000 for pretty much anything.
Today I learned that you can view your batch contexts from the desktop…
…so long as you have a clip from your schematic reels selected
Today I learned you can alt-click on a viewport edge to reset the window sizes when using 2-up, 3-up etc.
Interesting – I always used Shift+double click on the border. Alt with the single click’s a little easier.
I’m using Smoke Hotkeys so your hotkey might vary.
Just double clicking on the divider bar resets it too.
You can switch the postage stamp thumbnail in multilayer clips. No more almost white AO layers to see in batch when searching for some input
I was. I haven’t needed it since I brought it up last, but I know I will. @dazedinheaven provided some material here: Let's talk about Text, baby - #43 by dazedinheaven that I will look into. It seems to be similar to what @johnag has shown us.
