Uninformed, idiot artist-level superstition

I’m planar tracking right out of the gate. Even if it’s two dots and I’m making two tiny masks tracking to the same axis.

press ctrl+C , ctrl+C, ctrl+C,ctrl+C,ctrl+C,ctrl+C,ctrl+C,ctrl+C, banging on the keyboard and baspheming to copy segments from one timeline to another.

Ah no, wait, it’s not a superstition.

duplicate the ‘copy from’ sequence.
delete the segments you don’t want.
drag this sequence into the ‘copy to’ sequence?
or python.

I was talking about when you copy a segment and nothing happens when you paste it. Then you repeat it, and nothing happens. And then press ctrl+C, ctrl+C,ctrl+C,ctrl+C,ctrl+C,ctrl+C,ctrl+C, swearing terrible words, and yesss, you can paste the segment. This method works 100% :man_facepalming:

Then you find all that pasted segments on your reel instead of the timeline.

then it must be a feature!

I concur. One must hit Ctrl C a minimum of three times to guarantee a copy operation.

This works reliably. Also copying and pasting nodes in Batch. I have muscle memory so I always do a triple ctrl+C. “This time with feeling.”

When people ask what I think the greatest improvement to Flame has been in the last 20 years ('cause you know, people are always asking) I say it’s the ability to copy and paste like every other application known to the world.

I usually use planar first two, this came up while stabilizing 30 phone shots.

Yeah and no cancel button when you paste a duplicate filename.
