Hello Flamers, during an update to BIG SUR, the installation failed (Of course) and I am now in a phase where I am able to access my IMac using it in a Target mode (shortcut T) and restore some files before it will be formatted. So my first guess will be the whole opt/ folder, is that’s all? Knowing that my (frame store) is on an external HD.

You’ll definitely need to archive (tar.gz) an clip, project, user folders from /opt/adsk hierarchy, and maybe Your home folder with scripts/settings.
If you can access it in Target mode, you should be able to Carbon Copy Clone it to a backup disk, then reinstall using that Clone and Bobs Your Uncle.
