A few versions ago a new functionality was introduced where in Action or Gmask Tracer, you could switch from something like primary to secondary output view – in this context seeing the comp output or the matte output. I don’t mean cycling through multiple outputs with F4.
I can’t remember what the views were called, and having to reprogram all my hotkeys, I can’t find the function in the hotkey list. I thought it was something like ctrl-1 and ctrl-2?
Yeah the thing is I map my context 1, 2, 3, etc. to the buttons 1, 2, 3, etc. (like it was before ADSK changed these long hotkeys for some odd reason.)
So that means I have to remap whatever was ADSK’s 1, 2, 3. But I don’t know what hotkey term to look up. I’ve looked through the whole list of keys and can’t seem to find it…
I see. Don’t know the option name, sorry. Maybe they show up on the blue, viewing popup. Usually on the lower left side of the viewports in batch. You know, where you can select ouput, object view, context view, etc…
For example, I have a gmask tracer with footage in the front, key in the matte input.
I can only view the footage in the Comp:Default ouput, or I can F3 see the matte input. I can’t see the actual gmask matte output that shows what my mattes are doing. I don’t know how to switch this…
1 and 2 do not do it in the default user.
It’s 1 for a default Flame user.
But I notice from time to time that the result view of gmask tracer is stuck. I then need to go into the nodes output list and manually select ‚matte‘ to have it back.
Yes, same for me. Sometimes it happens too often. It’s kind of a bug I’ve been seeing for many versions, but I’ve never been sure if it’s something I’m doing wrong.
It could be because of a shortcut conflict in a specific scenario. Next time it happens, open the Keyboard Shortcuts editor and look for any conflicts with the 1 and 2 keys.
